My Story

I am Alexis Cheavious Jr. I am a strength & conditioning coach here at Equip, where I’ve been apart of the team since 2019. I am a New Orleans Native and LSU kinesiology graduate (2017). I’ve been a trainer since 2016, where I started training clients at the LSU recreational center. In my last semester at LSU, I interned with LSU Strength & Conditioning program. While interning, I helped coach softball, men and women’s basketball, men and women’s tennis, men’s golf, and men’s cheerleading. When I returned home after graduating, I worked at a local physical therapy clinic as a physical therapy tech, where I acquired some skills and knowledge to further help clients who have injuries, to facilitate safe training practices while recovering. In January of 2018, I joined JP as a strength & conditioning coach for Landry-Walker HS football team. Then in March of 2019 I began to lead my “Olympic Lifts” class. Since joining the Equip Team, I have worked with numerous local High School football programs as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. In 2022, I kickstarted my strength training program “Strong By Design”.

My favorite style workouts are strength training workouts but I also like to mix in some sprinting, jumping exercises as well.

One of my favorite hobbies is playing video games like NBA 2k, FIFA and Call of Duty.

Fun Fact: I have a Louisiana Life Insurance License and a LA Series 6 Investment License
